The head is the most studied subject in the history of sculpture, and for good reason — nothing reveals a sculptor’s understanding of form faster than a face. The Head Studies series at Prototypez Studios approaches the human head the way the old masters did: through planes, through structure, through the geometry that lives beneath skin and expression. These are not portraits. They are investigations. Each study breaks the face into its essential components — the angle of the brow plane, the transition from cheek to jaw, the architectural logic of the skull — cast in resin and finished by hand in Los Angeles.
